DermaLens is an informational skin-assessment tool. You submit a photo of a skin concern and receive an assessment: the skin conditions from a dermatology dataset that most visually resemble your photo, ranked by likelihood, together with general guidance on sensible next steps.

The analysis is produced by the Autoderm dermatology AI engine (manufactured by iDoc24 AB, Gothenburg, Sweden), a CE-marked medical device. DermaLens presents those results to you in plain language.

DermaLens results are information, not a medical diagnosis. Only a qualified clinician can diagnose a skin condition. Do not make medical decisions, delay seeking care, or start or stop treatment based solely on a DermaLens result.

There is no "all clear" result. The assessment lists the conditions most visually similar to your photo — it can never rule out disease, and the absence of a serious condition in your results does not mean a serious condition is absent. If a lesion is changing quickly, bleeding, painful, or you feel unwell, see a doctor regardless of any result.

Emergencies: do not use DermaLens in an emergency. If you have severe pain, rapidly spreading redness, fever, or swelling of the face or tongue, contact emergency services immediately.

You must be 18 or older, or use DermaLens together with a parent or guardian. You must be able to understand that results are informational possibilities, not medical conclusions.

The Autoderm analysis engine is CE-marked for use in the European Union and United Kingdom (MDR Class IIa, Rule 11). It does not currently hold FDA clearance.

United States: if you are a US resident, the analysis is provided for demonstration purposes only and must not be used for medical guidance.

Following the Autoderm end-user instructions, a good photo means:

• Bright, even lighting (daylight is best) without flash glare or shadows.
• Sharp focus — tap to focus on the spot or patch, and hold still.
• Fill the frame with the affected area against a plain, neutral background.
• An original, unedited photo — no filters or enhancements.
• JPEG, PNG or WebP, at least 512×512 pixels, up to 10 MB.

Your photo is sent securely to the Autoderm analysis engine and is not stored by DermaLens after your result is shown. If you choose the optional consent, your photo may be retained to help improve the AI — you can withdraw that consent at any time. Full details are in our Privacy & Data Protection notice.

You agree not to:

• use DermaLens in an emergency or as a substitute for clinical examination;
• upload photos of other people without their consent, or photos intended to identify a person;
• misrepresent DermaLens results as a medical diagnosis;
• attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the service;
• use the service for any unlawful purpose.

DermaLens is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made in reliance on a DermaLens result, nor for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or your statutory consumer rights.

Because DermaLens is built on the Autoderm engine, your use of the analysis is also subject to Autoderm's own documents:

• Autoderm End-User Instructions (eIFU)

Regulatory credentials shown in DermaLens belong to the Autoderm analysis engine. DermaLens is an information and triage tool and is not itself a certified medical device.

We may update these terms from time to time; the "last updated" date above shows the current version, and continued use after an update means you accept it.

These terms are governed by Norwegian law.

To report a problem with the analysis engine itself (including a suspected adverse event), contact Autoderm at support@autoderm.ai. Serious incidents involving a medical device can also be reported to your national competent authority.
